Sir Dave Thompson QPM DL is the current chair of United by 2022, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Legacy charity.

Dave is the former Chief Constable of the West Midlands Police. In his police career he had extensive experience of major events including the Manchester 2002 and Birmingham 2022 Common Wealth Games.

Dave now works in consultancy and in non-executive roles.

He is a Deputy Lord Lieutenant in the West Midlands.
